Amazon's The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power includes an interesting balance of Tolkien's original source material, previous stories, and new material. So far, the series has been a mixed bag, among both critics and fans, and has a lot to praise and criticize, both as an extension of Tolkien and a property in its own right. The series is the most expensive TV show in history and contains plenty of CGI, special effects, action, and subplots.
