Every great manga/anime franchise draws inspiration from what came before, and even legendary, landmark series such as Hirohiko Araki's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure owes a lot to older series. In particular, it's clear that Araki borrowed a few ideas from the iconic 1980s shonen series Fist of the North Star, and he wasn't alone. The late Kentaro Miura took some cues from Fist as well when creating Berserk.
